Our social responsibilities

Our social responsibilities

Our school community’s health depends on your actions and social responsibilities.  In an effort to keep our school fully open in the current model we are in, we are asking families to be extra diligent and cautious.

As we approach the many holidays ahead, please do all you can to follow the best practices that the Department of Public Health has outlined when gathering outside of school time:
  • Limit gathering size: Indoor gatherings at private residences are limited to 10 people, and outdoor gatherings at private residences are limited to 25 people.
  • Individuals should stay within their household: For a lower-risk celebration, people should limit in-person holiday gatherings to only people they live with or limit the gathering to a small group of individuals with whom they are regularly in contact.
  • Avoid travel: Anyone considering travel should review and abide by Massachusetts travel orders, and people who want to travel to another state that is not a lower-risk state should be aware of the quarantine requirements involved with such travel.

SAL Day–Thursday, Dec 17, 2020

SAL Day–Thursday, Dec 17, 2020

Because of the timing of the storm, and the impact on the safety of travel, our plan is to implement a
SAL (Structured Alternative Learning) Day
for Kindergarten through Grade 8 students on Thursday, Dec 17th.
(please see below for SAL details)
It is our intention to keep an academic finish to 2020!
Students were sent home with supplies, books and materials that will help them to function academically in the home setting.
What does this mean?
  • A SAL Day is initiated so that students and teachers avoid academic interruption, as well as the possibility of having to make up any snow days. Students are expected to engage in at least a half-day of school, and complete all given assignments.
What should we expect?
  • Kindergarten through Grade 5 teachers will be posting a schedule for the day in their Google classroom by 8am. Students will complete the assigned tasks and will have a virtual check-in with their teacher at some point during the day for attendance purposes, as well as to provide any support and answer questions.
  • Middle School students will be expected to engage in a four period schedule which is attached here for your reference.
What else do we need to know?
  • Google meet attendance is mandatory, as it is our means of taking attendance, in addition to the submission of completed work.
  • School uniform is not required on SAL Days.

Thank you for your continued support and patience

as we continue to provide a quality education for our students!
