Respect Life Month events

Respect Life Month events

October is not only a month dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary, it is also Respect Life Month.

As Christian citizens we are called to do our part to ensure that the right to life be recognized for all people–for those not yet born and those at the end of their earthly life; those who are sick and forgotten; those who suffer from poverty and marginalization.

We can all dedicate a daily rosary for these intentions as a part of our prayer life this month.

We can also participate through some scheduled activities this month through St. Francis Xavier parish:

  • Baby Bottle Campaign–All contributions will benefit A Woman’s Concern, an organization which supports those who are facing difficult pregnancies or who need help after the baby is born.  Learn more about their work:  www.lyopartners.org
  • Parish Blood Drive–Sign-up to give blood October 22nd
  • Can Drive begins October 27–Students will be collecting non-perishable items Oct 27-Nov 9 to assist the St. Vincent dePaul Society in distributing food baskets to local families in need for Thanksgiving.
  • 40 Days for Life Prayer Vigil in Attleboro–Come for any amount of time to share in this public and prayerful witness.  October 28th 6:00am-3:00pm

Please call the parish office for more information on any of the scheduled events of this month, or for more information on how to become involved in outreach to those most vulnerable in our community.

Thank you again for demonstrating your investment in our school, its mission, our goals and our new ventures!

Click on the photo to the right to see the fruits of much labor.

It is through the generosity of our 2017 Call of the Heart Donors that a new floor, all new furniture, 15 chrome books and a Sharp Aquos Board 70″ Monitor have all been successfully installed.

Our computer lab transformation is officially completed and our students will be able to take full advantage of this school improvement now.  Students will be able to utilize the new space to its fullest potential to collaborate, experiment and investigate concepts in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

Thoughtful Thursday THANKS–Coming together as a school for flood victims in Texas

Our school community was led by the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) on our first act of service.
Students wore RED, WHITE, and BLUE for $3 on Thoughtful Thursday, September 7th as a show of support for the flood victims in Texas and symbolic of America’s need to help.

Thank you for your incredible participation!

TOGETHER WE RAISED $1,000 OF SUPPORT!

All proceeds will be given to Catholic Charities specifically for Texas flood relief.  Let us keep all those affected by recent storms in our prayers as they try to rebuild!
