St. Francis Xavier, pray for us!Students and faculty kicked-off a celebration of our patron, St. Francis Xavier, at a “Feast Day Eve” assembly on Friday of this week that was organized by our 6th grade class and Miss Westbrook. Students learned a bit about the biography or our patron while enjoying a sweet ice cream treat compliments of Acushnet Creamery! The 6th graders then organized a “Mannequin Challenge” with student and faculty volunteers to demonstrate the many Works of Mercy we could practice in St. Francis Xavier’s honor.
All students and their families are invited to attend Holy Mass on Saturday, Dec 3rd at 9am…the actual feast day…to give thanks to God for such a powerful role model for our school! All students who attend Mass on Saturday, will receive a no-uniform pass from Mrs. Russo or Mrs. Shaughnessy as a gift to be used on Monday.
A Message from Bishop da Cunha…
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season. This year, on Tuesday November 29, 2016, The Diocese of Fall River is participating in a global day dedicated to charity. Last year, more than 45,000 organizations in 71 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday. We invite you to join the movement by donating this November 29th.
#IGiveCCA – Donate to Catholic Charities!
Catholic Charities supports the many charitable ministries and programs sponsored by the Fall River Diocese. Throughout the year these programs touch the lives of tens of thousands of persons, some young, others old; some sick in body, others in spirit; some broken, others confused with nowhere to turn. Without regard to race, creed, nationality, gender, or economic status, the many ministries supported by this annual fund-raising effort reach out to those in need, motivated by God’s call to love one another. To Donate go to: fallriverdiocesedonate.org/catholic-charities/
#IGiveFACE – Donate to The Foundation to Advance Catholic Education!
The goal of FACE is to ensure that no child is denied the opportunity of attending one of the Diocese’s Catholic schools due to financial hardship. FACE provides need-based scholarships to the children of the Diocese. To Donate go to: fallriverdiocesedonate.org/foundation-to-advance-catholic-education-face/
We encourage you to join the movement! #IGiveCCA and #IGiveFACE!
