Hello St. Francis Xavier School families! We hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer with your families. Just a few items to keep on your radar for the first days of school:
2024-2025 Parent/Student Handbook has been posted for review in the FACTS Family Portal.
Summer reading and work packets should be completed and can be brought on the first day of school: Click the link here to be taken to our website: https://www.sfxacushnet.com/summer-packets/ and communicate any issues directly with the teacher.
School supply lists are also posted on that same page of our website for Preschool-Grade 8.
- Parents may drop off the common/shared school supplies (paper towels, tissues, wipes, etc) to lighten the load for the first day of school.
- Preschool parents should bring their supplies to the Preschool Orientation on Aug 20th at 6pm.
- K-8 parents should bring their supplies to the Meet-the-Teacher/Supply Drop-off night on Aug 26th between 3-5pm and can drop them off directly in the classroom. Just be sure to clearly label supplies with the child’s name and grade.
Calendar: The 2024-2025 School Year-at-a-glance can be found in the Quicklinks on our website. You can follow the instructions on our website Forms and Docs page to subscribe your electronic calendar to it. The calendar has also been posted in this Family Portal under Resource Documents.
Please save the dates and times that pertain to you:
First Day of School for K-8: Wednesday, Aug 28th (8:00am start for Gr. 1-8; 8:15am arrival for Kindergarten only; 11:30 dismissals ALL WEEK with no afternoon Extended Care)
First Day of Preschool: Tuesday, Sept 3rd (8:00am start for K-8; 8:15am arrival for preschoolers only; FULL day of school for PS-8–with half-day preschoolers dismissing at 11:30am)
Back to School Night Sept 12th for PARENTS ONLY schedule:
- 6:00pm PS-5 parent class visits
- 6:30pm info session for ALL PS-8 parents
- followed by Gr. 6-8 parent orientation/class visits at 7:00pm
Uniforms/Spirit Wear/Swap Shop needs:
- Click here for information on the Uniform Code for 2024-2025, how to order from Donnelly’s, and to browse Spirit Wear options.
- The Uniform Code can also be found in the FACTS Family Portal under Resource Documents for reference.
- Gently used uniforms are available in the Swap Shop, which is accessible during summer office hours (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:00-11:30am) Outside of those times, simply call ahead to ensure someone is in the office to let you in.

BEHOLD the JOY of Easter!

EASTER CELEBRATION @ the school along with the 8th Grade EASTER EGG HUNT EGGSTRAVAGANZA!–Friday, April 12th
- The Student Council is selling Easter Eggs each morning April 3-5 for $1 each. Students pick from a bin filled with eggs and will open to find they either get candy or may pick out a “Golden Ticket” which earns them entry into the Easter Egg Hunt during school on April 12th!
- Spring Color dress down this day for students.
- Students will share some Alleluia songs to bring joy to our community at an in-school assembly.
- Lifetouch Spring pictures will also be this day!

The NJHS is organizing an EARTH DAY dress-down for Tuesday, April 30th
- They hope to help raise awareness for how we can personally care for and support organizations who protect God’s Creation! Students will dress down in Greens and Blues for $2 this day.

Parents can join us for our BENEFIT BANQUET on Friday, April 26th!
- This is our major fundraiser of the year and will be a great night out of music, food, and fellowship! Click for more info.

Middle School “May the Fourth be with You” Dance–Friday, May 3rd
- Students in Gr 6-8 can purchase tickets starting on Earth Day (Apr. 22) to attend this “punny” NJHS sponsored event to build community and have a fun time together at this Star Wars themed dance night! More info to come!

ASCENSION THURSDAY-Thursday, May 9th
- Our 50 days of Easter wrap up beautifully with the celebration of Jesus’ Ascension into Heaven and Holy Mass as a school community.
- Grade 8 will be taking their class picture in their graduation gowns this day, as they start preparing for their Commencement!

Join us for one of our largest fundraisers of the year…enjoy musical entertainment, dance, laugh, eat, and help support the school we love!
A Night in Black and White starring entertainment from On-the-Go, music from Boston’s Own Dueling Pianos, and auctioneer/Comedian Kevin Sullivan!
Tickets will be $75/piece, and for the first time this year, we are going to give our current families a $25/ticket credit towards their Family Fundraising Obligation!
