St. Nicholas reminds us to “Be Giving”!

St. Nicholas reminds us to “Be Giving”!

Here is a short video that may be helpful to set a stage for you.

“Love for Christ is the secret of holiness!”

~ St. John Paul II

  • As is the St. Nick feast day tradition, “shoes” which students made in school were set out in the hallway outside their classroom at the end of the school day on Tuesday Dec 5th awaiting a simple treat in his honor on the feast day morning.
  • Students also brought in gently used toys, which our 2nd and 3rd graders will deliver in the spirit of St. Nick to Gifts to Give on their upcoming service trip.
  • St. Nick visited classrooms briefly in the morning on Dec 6th, and students later shared with him what they will put on their hearts in prayer and in preparation for Jesus this Advent.
  • St. Nick then “cut the ribbon” to officially open St. Nick’s Workshop 2017.  The 8th grade class is organizing this annual class fundraiser and offering all the classes in the school an opportunity to browse, make wish lists, and purchase simple items in the workshop for others during the remainder of the week.

We are the hands of Christ

We are the hands of Christ

Thank you to all our families for their contributions to the Thanksgiving basket collection of canned/non-perishable goods.  All donations will assist the parish St. Vincent DePaul Society (SVDP) in assembling baskets with our National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) members for local families in need!

Together we can create and sustain an attitude of gratitude and giving in the weeks ahead, and practice the Corporal Works of Mercy.  Each class will be praying for and sponsoring a local SVDP family in need throughout Advent.

Let us be generous like the saints!
